Paul Torrens Health Forum: Exploring Immunization Policy

California’s vaccination laws rank among the strictest nationwide. In 2015, the State eliminated personal belief exemptions and Governor Newson recently signed legislation further tightening medical exemptions. What are the barriers, policy, and legal implications of protecting the public’s health through vaccinations? How do they intersect with personal choice, and how do they impact providers and employers? A panel including a legislator, policy expert, and pediatrician will explore these timely and important issues surrounding one of our most cost-effective “pillars” of public health.
