Pediatric Health on a Burning Planet: Research, Resilience & Recovery is the second annual conference hosted by Pediatric Firestorm TEAM (PFire), a transdisciplinary collaborative dedicated to improving the health of children and communities affected by wildfire, Wildland–Urban Interface (WUI) disasters, and related environmental exposures.

The conference brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, environmental scientists, behavioral and public health experts, educators, community leaders, policymakers, advocates, students, families, and individuals with lived experience to examine what we know—and work collaboratively toward what we need to do next.

Program Highlights

  • Three multidisciplinary plenary panels focused on Research, Resilience, and Recovery
  • Four Interprofessional Translational Working Groups addressing:
    1) Mapping the Firestorm: Science, Exposure & Discovery
2)Building Resilient Communities: Mental Health, Recovery & Community Resilience
3)Pediatric Care in the Wildfire Era: Clinical Innovation, Preparedness & Recovery
4)Pediatric Policy, Advocacy & Communication: Community Engagement, Leadership & Systems Change
  • Scholarly Exchange & Poster Forum
  • Community, research, and professional networking
  • Collaborative development of PFire Action Briefs translating discussion into research priorities, clinical implications, policy recommendations, and actionable next steps

Program Highlights:
